Our open day on Sunday, gave us the chance to show visitors exactly what we do and how we care for their pets. The tour of all areas of the practice included our laboratory, wards, theatres and diagnostic imaging rooms. There were also opportunities for visitor participation, e.g. bandaging practice, examining samples through the microscope and getting dressed up in theatre clothing ready to operate!
Members of staff were on hand in all areas to explain our facilities, the equipment we use and importantly the care we give. Many of the protocols and procedures that are in place mirror that of the human world, leading to a high standard of care for all our fur, feathered, scaly or spikey patients! Visitors were also given the opportunity to browse our website and sign up to our MVP Client Education Club, (open to all our clients).
We were joined and would like to thank: Lisa Cooper, Assistant Manager from the new Dogs Trust Essex with fostered pup Rapunzel; Kornelia Teelucksingh and colleagues representing our local Colne Valley Cats Protection and Paula Slyuxsarenko from Elanaco Animal Health who manned our Bug Room and was on hand for parasite control advise. We hope all our visitors enjoyed their tour, as much as we did and thank everyone for coming along!
