Lucinda Gowers

Ward Assistant

Experience
My animal career started after school at Catley Cross Veterinary Practice.  Primarily I was a groom for the equine department.  I gained my Horse Care Level 2 and Animal Care Level 3 at that time.  I moved to Millennium in July 2022 as a full time ward assistant.

Interests
I really value all the contact I have with our patients and help the veterinary team in wards, consults and the lab.  Our ward team is responsible for the cleanliness of many areas of the practice, given the importance of infection control.  The laundry room is a hub of activity given the number of day and hospitalised patients we have as well as surgical and diagnostic procedures that require instrument and equipment cleaning, sterilising and maintenance.

Activities
You can usually find me enjoying the great outdoors, especially horseback riding. I’m the proud owner of a wonderful horse named Billy, who’s always up for an adventure.
At home, I share my space with two mischievous cats, Pudding and Maple, who never fail to keep me on my toes with their playful antics. I value the time spent with family and friends, and I’m lucky to have a circle of people who keep life fun and full of laughter.
