Stefaan Van Poucke MRCVS
DVM CertVD PGDip (Clinical Oncology) MRCVS
Director and Veterinary Surgeon
Experience
I graduated from the Veterinary School, University of Ghent, Belgium (1994). Soon after qualifying I worked in a mixed veterinary practice in Yorkshire. I obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology in 2000 while working in a small animal practice in Derbyshire. In October 2012 I gained my Clinical Oncology Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Birmingham.
Since 2001 I have been working at the Millennium Practice and became a Director in 2008. I was winner of the Essex veterinary society president prize in 2007. I spend most of my time seeing dermatology and oncology cases which also includes seeing referrals for our neighbouring practices.
Interests
I have a keen interest in pathology and oversee the daily running of our internal laboratory. In recent years I have been involved in several clinical trials for novel drugs to treat osteoarthritis, skin and ear diseases.
Activities
I am a very active person and compete every year in road cycle races and triathlons in the UK and abroad. I am a keen horse rider and spent my summer holidays climbing mountains. In the dark winter months I compete in the Essex chess league (but not very well).
