Registered Veterinary Nurse, Behaviour Support Nurse and Client Liaison Manager
Experience
I started nursing in 1990 and qualified in 1992. I have been lucky to have many different nursing experiences and help nurse a wide variety of species; (including lion cubs, giraffes and kangaroos!). I gained my Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 1997 when working as a senior surgical nurse at the Royal Veterinary College. In 2018 I gained my Nurse Certificate in Animal Behaviour, through the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies.
My previous jobs have also included lecturing, Head Nurse and Training Manager for a large group of practices in London. I started working part time at the Millennium Veterinary Practice in 2003 and have been there ever since. I am more at home in general practice and enjoy the variety of patients our practice has. My nursing skills continue to grow and I firmly believe that you are never too old to learn! Alongside my role as a consulting and behaviour support nurse I am involved in the practices PR activities and also hold the position of Client Liaison Manager.

Interests
Educating members of the public about animal welfare is a real interest of mine and there is nothing more rewarding than visiting a class of primary school children with a selection of animals!
I have a real interest in the political side of Veterinary Nursing and have been President of the British Veterinary Nursing Association and a member of the RCVS Veterinary Nursing Council. I was presented with the RCVS VN Golden Jubilee Award in 2015 for outstanding contribution to the veterinary nursing profession. I am also interested in the developing role of the District Veterinary Nurse and belief it is a real key to supporting the human animal bond for clients and their pets.
Clinically I am particularly interested in animal behaviour and weight management support for our patients.
Activities
I am a proud mum of two children, one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Rainbow, my cat wee Iona rescued from here and some outdoor fish. I love travel, the outdoors and the arts.
